Die Idee der Kulturbrücke „Ponte Cultura“ wurde 1990 in Sao Paulo geboren. Seitdem haben sich daraus rege kulturelle Aktivitäten zwischen den beiden Welten ergeben, deren Schwerpunkte auf zeitgenössische Kunst und Künstlerbegegnungen liegen. Das Hauptaugenmerk konzentriert sich demzufolge auf die Organisation von Workshops, bei denen Künstler zusammenkommen, Ideen austauschen und gemeinsame Projekte erarbeiten – vor allen Dingen bei den bildenden Künsten, aber auch im Bereich zeitgenössischer Musik und Theater.
In diesen Workshops, die von angesehenen Künstlern aus verschiedenenen Teilen der Welt besucht werden, ist das Hauptanliegen, den individuellen kreativen Prozess des Einzelnen zu fördern und ihm durch die Gemeinschaft die Gelegenheit zu einem größeren Aktionsradius zu geben.
Die Workshops werden von Einzel- oder Kollektivausstellungen in Galerien und Kulturzentren sowohl in Europa (Deutschland) als auch in Brasilien begleitet.

It was the year 1990 that the idea of Ponte Cultura was first thought of – in São Paulo. Since that time it has become established as a cultural exchange between the two worlds.
Primarily, Ponte Cultura is concerned with Contemporary Arts, as a communication between people of different cultures, today. The main focus is therefore in bringing togehter artists in groups to exchange ideas and elaborate new common projects – mostly in fine arts but as well in contemporary music and theater projects.
In the Workshops held by Ponte Cultura the creative process is catalysed by the mix of artists present, but each artist retains his own independence, thus allowing PC to hold both group and one men exhibitions, alongside those held by the artists, individually.

A ideia da ponte cultural „Ponte Cultura“ nasceu 20 anos atràs em São Paulo. Muitas intensas atividades culturais entre os dois mundos aconteceram desde então. Os pontos principais são a promoção de arte contemporânea e encontros entre artistas e é por isso que a associação se concentra na busca de organisar workshops para dar aos artistas reunidas a oportunidade de trocar ideias e elaborar projetos em comum – isso não soltanto nas artes plasticos como tambem no setor de musica nova e teatro.
Os workshops que são frequentados por artistas de renomé são organisados do jeito que o processo criativo de cada um pode ser desenvolvido liberadamente e que o fato de trabalhar em conjunto pode ajudar ao artista em alcançar um maior radio de ação.
Os Workshops estão acompanhados por exposições individuais como coletivas – tanto na Europa (Alemanha) quanto no Brasil.
