Bird Market

One rainy day, when I was a student, I saw through my window a bird standing on electricity cable -a single black dot in a huge grey sky. This image has remained in my mind since then. Perhaps this image influenced my choosing the visual arts.
My proposal for the Zeitlupe project  -slow camera - meaning deceleration, both for birds decelerating in order to land and rest on wires, or birds forced to land in retail markets. On the other hand, the image of a landed bird gives a feeling of restfulness if we focus on it, ignoring all the acceleration around it.

The installation "Bird Market" for Schloss Almershof represents a great movement of buying and selling of things, birds included. I make this comparison, since the old-fashioned street-market opposes the fast marketing imposed by modernization.
